Beginning my career in Publishing
After over a decade in the Theatre industry I'm looking to change careers. This is me, chronicling my journey.
elvtr Course
In 2025 I completed a course with Bloomsbury's Francisco Vilhena. This course walked me through the entire process of creating a book, from the authors first ideas to promoting it once it's on the shelves. I thoroughly enjoyed my first professional dip into this industry. It also introduced me to a fantastic community of like minded people from the course and from social media.
Binding Books
One of my favourite parts of this industry are gorgeous special editions. Here you can see the finished copy of a book I created for a friend who's story will be published later this year, from printing, to binding, to creating the cover, to end papers, to designing and printing the gold foil using a cricut, the whole process from start to finish was beyond fun!
Proofreading
As I often read over 100 books a year I find myself constantly spotting mistakes and errors in already published books. From mispelt to repeated words, even entire repeated paragraphs, to formatting issues, and inconsistencies within the text. I've had a few friends ask me to proofread their books and I've relished the task of editing their texts.
